The motor driver BIQU TMC2209 v1.2 serves as a replacement for the older models A4988 and DRV8825. Thanks to technological development, this device can control a bipolar stepper motor. Up to 256 sub-steps can be achieved when controlled via UART interface. The advantage is also its ability to reduce power consumption by up to 75%.
The manufacturer continues to take care of the module in cooperation with the community. On github, you can find a large number of procedures and manuals for various types of use.
