Before choosing a vacuum cleaner, you should consider the type of flooring you intend to clean and whether you have any allergies or pets. You can choose from a wide range of vacuum cleaners, including classic, multifunctional and robotic models.
ContinueBaggedBag vacuum cleaners collect dust and dirt in textile or paper bags. It captures hair, animal hair and other rough dirt well, so these vacuum cleaners do not require frequent cleaning of the filter. In general, bags that need to be changed over time are better than those that just need to be emptied.
| |
BaglessDust and other dirst are sucked up and, thanks to a high centrifugal force, are stored in a special container which needs to be emptied after vacuuming. These vacuum cleaners are not ideal for allergy sufferers.
| |
UprightThanks to its slender and compact design, upright vacuum cleaners are ideal for cleaning smaller areas and difficult to reach places. Models with a built-in battery can also be used outside the reach of an electrical outlet. Simplicity of control is also an advantage. These can often be purchased in combination with a handheld vacuum cleaner. There are baggedand bagless variants of upright vacuum cleaners.
| |
HandheldThese are small in size and light in weight. They are ideal for cleaning the car or somewhere without an electrical outlet. Some models are powered via cable (230V or 12V sockets), but most handheld vacuum cleaners are equipped with a battery. Durability ranges from 8 to 20 minutes, and some models can work longer.

RoboticRobotic vacuum cleaners clean by themselves, without any need for oversight. They are better suited for smooth floors than for high carpets. They move around the room with infrared sensors that scan the surroundings of the vacuum cleaner. More expensive robotic vacuum cleaner models are equipped with sensors for detecting dirt and collisions.

MultipurposeMulti-purpose vacuum cleaners can handle both dry dirt and dust, as well as liquids, not only from hard floors but also from carpets. Some models of multipurpose vacuum cleaners also offer window cleaning, deep carpet or upholstery and steam cleaning. These are suitable for households, garages, workshops or terraces.

Ash Vacuum CleanersYou can use the ash vacuum cleaners in a household with a fireplace or stove, but also in the garden or cottage where grilling happens frequently. They can also handle light amounts of dirt in the garden and workshop, such as fine sawdust, sand or dust. Generally, ash extractors have the largest container volume and, like other types of vacuum cleaners, use HEPA filters.
|
It's different for each type of vacuum cleaner, but in general, a larger volume for the dust container allows you the luxury of cleaning longer without interruption to empty the container or replace the bag. Refer to the table for the recommended volume ratio of the bag to the vacuumed area. For bagless vacuum cleaners, the container volume is 1.2 to 2 liters.
Size of area to be vacuumed | Volume of bag |
up to 50m2 | 2 to 2.5l |
50 to 150m2 | 3 to 4l |
over 150m2 | 4l or more |
The working radius depends on the length of the cable. The longer the cable, the less you have to change the sockets. The length is usually between 5 and 15m.
Filtration quality affects overall vacuum efficiency. There is no exception that all vacuum cleaners use a multistage filtration system. We recommend selecting certified HEPA filters that are made of glass fiber and are generally more effective and more durable than fabric microfilters.
The sound pressure level, or the amount of noise the vacuum cleaner makes, has a large effect on the comfort of work. The quietest vacuum cleaners produce noise levels around 60 dB, which is comparable to human conversation. The noise of the loudest is more than 85 dB. The quietest variety are robotic vacuum cleaners.
